About Gulgong

Boomers on Tour will take you on a day trip to Gulgong, an historic town in Country NSW. It is about 30 km from Mudgee and was established by the 1860s gold rush, when 20,000 people flocked to the town.

Gulgong has several fascinating museums. You can see an impressive range of photographs taken at the height of the gold rush in 1872 as well as an amazing collection of Australiana memorabilia.

A living memorial to one of Australia’s greatest bush balladeers can be seen at the Henry Lawson Centre. That is Henry Lawson who spent his childhood in the area. Every June long weekend the famous Henry Lawson Festival is held.
