ORANGE – 2 DAY TOUR

A central west progressive town, 254 kms west of Sydney.  Famous for it’s food production, i.e. cherries, apples and it’s cool climate wines.

Look out for the Food Week in April and the Wine Festival in October.  Apple Harvest can be experienced February to May and Cherry picking November to January.

$500 ea.  2 persons, $350  if 4 persons travel.  $150 per person if 12 persons travel.  Including accommodation.  Choose your own dates*

Orange is easy to get to – just 3 1/2 hours drive or take the train.  Abounding in culture, Orange showcases the Arts, it’s heritage architecture and amazing Conservatorium of Music, Theatres and Galleries not to forget the Botanical Gardens as well as Cook Park with it’s Conservatory growing their famous Begonias, the Aviary and duck ponds.

Orange is also well-known for it’s outstanding Health facilities and Specialist Services.  It now boasts a new District Hospital with a new Private Hospital planned in the near future.

 

MOUNT CANOBOLAS

A visit to Mt Canobolas provides the visitor with 350 degree views all over the glorious Orange Wine District of Orange. Walking tracts wind all over the mountain to give people fantastic and enjoyable exercise.

BORENORE CAVES

A spectacle not to be missed is experiencing these ancient limestone caves together with the ever present beauty of the flora and fauna and bird watching opportunities.  The popular Arch Cave is fascinating with it’s stalactites and stalagmites and columns.  Scenic views, picnic spots and camping ground.

MT NAGAR LOOKOUT/MT MURGA

Important refuges for kangaroos, wallabies, bats and birdlife.  Also opportunity to get in some hiking between these two mountains if time permits.  In spring wildflowers bloom and the sighting of the amazing wedge tailed eagle soaring above the magestic ridge line.

Visiting Orange district is full of highlights and hard to cover in just 1 day.  Consider staying longer and we can include a drive out to Cumnock to see the 100’s of incredible Bicycle Sculptures.  Another experience to add to the list of destinations is the Mandatory Creek Venison farm run by Sophie and Tim Hanskin and if we ‘time it’ right attend their monthly lunch.
